Producing environment-friendly products and is committed to sustainability, Calık Denim hosted the executives of leading global denim brands in Binbirdirek Cistern in Sultanahmet. A large part of materials used for the event were selected from recyclable materials. Maximum care was taken to save energy and water during the event. In addition, the carbon footprints of the participants were calculated.

The guests had pleasant moments during the performance of Hüsnü Şenlendirici & İlhan Erşahin while Veysel Karaman demonstrated amazing examples of sand art during the event which brought together the representatives of world-famous firms and the designers of leading brands in the denim market, mostly from Italy, United States, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Tunisia, Morocco, Finland, China, Portugal, and Switzerland who watched a fashion show where clothes selected from three different product types in Calık Denim’s collections.

Slogan: ‘’Denim is the only savior’’
According to a scenario highlighted at the event which was inspired by the slogan ‘’Denim is the only savior,‘ all resources in the world were depleted in 2011 and the world needed a savior which was denim. A fashion show was staged based on the concept “Denim is the savior” which will also be reflected in all designs of Calık Denim in the next fashion season.

What is the green event?
Sustainability is the main idea behind the green event which is an event concept recognized throughout the world. An event can be classified as a “green event” only if it has a positive effect on and makes a positive contribution to the place where it is organized and carried out in an environment-friendly manner in terms of its content. Minimum 30% percent of all printed materials used for the event should be made of 100% recyclable materials. Attention should be paid to saving energy and water during the event.
